Background…

Telemetry are the world leaders in digital media forensics. Formed in 2006 by three London based entrepreneurs, Telemetry are creating an index along the FTSE style of grading that will qualify the massive volumes of online advertising globally. It has yielded the kind of results that the top Fortune 500 companies can now qualify their spend and delivers insight to the level where unique campaigns can be verified not only by geography, device, or demographic, but also by establishing components such as whether the volume of the video was muted by the user when viewed. Organisations such as Reckitt Benckiser, Budweiser, and L’Oreal now commit their online spend via the Telemetry index and they are fast becoming the go to solution for truly independent and expert forensic intelligence for the online space.

The Problem…

As true pioneers in their field, they found themselves seeking innovative polyglots who would help them achieve the next stage in their growth, tackle groundbreaking challenges and lead the market. Due to the nature of their work, they are competing with the likes of Google and Facebook for new talent. Their previous recruitment method was a combination of direct sourcing and contingent agency recruitment which resulted in candidates who were already active on the market and lacked the enthusiasm and passion that Telemetry needed.

The Solution…

We challenged the co-founders of Telemetry to get directly involved with recruitment. We asked them to put together an “assignment brief” that gave a real insight into Telemetry including their vision and passion for the business that would put them into a position to compete with the best London based talent. Rather than approach candidates on the current market, Engage took on a mapping process where we approached 3,500 people in over 250 of the leading technology companies in the UK. These housed some of the brightest technologists who were not actively looking to move but for whom the Telemetry opportunity could be a compelling proposition.

The Outcome…

Telemetry asked us to focus on delivering 5 key hires. In a partnered approach we produced candidates they had never previously been able to attract, and delivered this in a manner which saved enormous amounts of time and energy, talking to people who genuinely bought into what Telemetry are looking to achieve. The results was 5 people secured who will take their business forward, and a broadened network into some of the brightest technologist’s London has to offer.
