About Cifas

Cifas is a not-for-profit fraud prevention membership organisation. We are the UK\'s leading fraud prevention service, managing the largest confirmed fraud database in the country. We have more than 400 member organisations from all sectors, sharing their data across those sectors to reduce instances of fraud and financial crime.

Since 1988, Cifas has helped its members and customers protect themselves from billions of pounds worth of fraud losses. Using the simple tools of communication and sharing information, we are able to shine a light on fraud activity for all our members and partners to see.

We have considerable ambitions to keep growing our membership and expand our offer to new areas of the economy. To help manage our expanding membership, we are now recruiting for an Assistant Director of Engagement.

About the role

The Assistant Director of Engagement will join our exceptional and well-established Engagement team. The successful candidate will manage the new member recruitment team, consisting of:

  • Fraud Consultants, who engage with potential members;
  • New Member Relationship Executives, who on-board, train and manage a member organisation when they join.

Candidate profile

Essential:

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in sales of data, software or related service sectors.
  • A good understanding of the Credit Rating Agencies sector and/or financial underwriting and decision systems sector.
  • A good understanding of the fraud issues facing organisations being canvassed to join Cifas, with the ability to connect this with the requirements of new sectors.
  • A can-do attitude with the energy to make changes and drive growth of the Cifas membership in revenue, numbers and breadth and depth of service.

Desirable:

  • A good understanding of industry regulatory standards as they impact on fraud prevention.
  • A knowledge of the law as it relates to fraud.
  • An understanding of Data Protection Law, particularly in regard to sharing data.
  • Working knowledge of CRM systems and how they help support sales and sales management.
