IDVerse (Acquired by Lexis Nexis Risk Solutions)

Building the International Go-to-Market Team Behind a Digital Identity Exit.

Founded in Australia, OCR Labs (now IDVerse) developed an AI-driven biometric identity verification platform enabling organisations to confirm whether identity documents are genuine and whether the individual presenting them is authentic.

Operating within the digital identity and fraud prevention market, the platform supported financial institutions and regulated businesses in mitigating fraud risk and complying with AML requirements.

At the time Engage began partnering with the business, OCR Labs was at Series A stage, entering a pivotal phase of international expansion. As the company matured and strengthened its global positioning, it rebranded to IDVerse, reflecting its evolution from regional challenger to internationally recognised identity platform.


The Challenge

IDVerse had strong product capability and early traction in Australia but required structured go-to-market leadership to expand into the UK, EMEA and the US.

The mandate was not incremental hiring. It was:

  • Establishing the first commercial presence in the UK
  • Building senior sales leadership in EMEA
  • Strengthening marketing capability aligned to regulated markets
  • Supporting subsequent expansion into Australia and the US
  • Scaling brand credibility within a competitive digital identity ecosystem

International expansion required more than salespeople. It needed leaders who were capable of translating a technically strong product into a globally credible identity platform.

Operating in digital identity and fraud meant domain fluency was essential. Candidates needed a deep understanding of AML, KYC, biometric verification and regulated buying cycles. As such, IDVerse needed a search partner with established networks in identity and fraud, an understanding of the industry, and experience launching brands into new markets.


The Solution

Engage was retained to support the build-out of IDVerse’s international go-to-market function, working on global leadership and management hires.

Establishing UK & EMEA Leadership

The initial mandate focused on appointing:

  • Sales Director (UK), the first commercial hire on the ground
  • Sales Director EMEA
  • Head of Marketing EMEA

These roles created the senior commercial spine required to structure pipeline generation, enterprise sales processes and regional brand positioning.

The searches involved:

  • Market mapping across digital identity and fraud vendors
  • Direct headhunting of competitor talent
  • Structured referencing and validation
  • Positioning IDVerse’s growth story to passive candidates unfamiliar with the brand

This early leadership installation provided the foundation for international scaling.

Supporting Global Expansion

Once the leadership team was created, Engage then helped IDVerse with roles across Australia and the US, enabling them to:

  • Strengthen enterprise sales capability
  • Expand regulated market coverage
  • Scale go-to-market presence across key regions
  • Build credibility within financial services and identity verification ecosystems

The Outcome

IDVerse transitioned from a regional digital identity challenger to a globally recognised biometric verification platform. Following the installation of the leadership and go-to-market teams, the organisation was successfully acquired by LexisNexis Risk Solutions in 2025. The acquisition marked a significant milestone in the company’s scale-up journey and reflects the successful expansion of its commercial presence and market credibility.
